ok, so if any of you are Dave Ramsey fans, you will get the title. For those of you who aren't fans, he is a financial guy that we listen to on the radio and try to follow his philosophies on money(although I don't really care for "rice and beans" and we haven't quite had "gazelle-like intensity"). He is a Christian but has radio show that is played on the local talk radio station(1190). He is big into having no debt...none...not even your house. Well we haven't quite gotten there yet but the Lord has blessed us in being able to pay off our 2nd mortgage and we're very excited about it and thankful. On the radio when someone gets to this step in the program they call Dave and scream WE'RE DEBT FREE....(except for our house). we think that is a bit over the top so we'll just stick to a small blog blurb.

Better than I(we) deserve...

Kristi that is very cool! Congratulations. We are also big fans of Dave Ramsey. He's so motivating to 'live like nobody else does, so someday you can live like nobody else does.' Anyway, your blog made me smile - I think you should call in and scream on the airwaves!!!
I haven't heard the radio show but I have read articles on his website. I never knew there were any AM radio stations that weren't about sports. Go figure. Congrats on paying off the mortgage!

We listen to Dave all the time and saw him when he came to Portland, and because of him have been trying to pay off our second, too!!! (we are not that close yet.)
Congratulations!!! I will have to ask you more about this....like how much should you have in savings before you try to pay down your mortgage? Scott and I were wondering that....
One of my best friends is taking his financial classes right now with her husband. While I can't imagine having zero debt while owning a house, they've been doing what they can to reach each step, and it's working. Congratulations to you! You're one step closer to not letting The Man hold you down :)
As of last week, we are debt free except for our house!! Yay! Now we only have a $200,000 mortgage to go...ugh!
What time is this radio show on? Sounds like something Matt and I would enjoy :)
We are sooooo not debt free, lol, but are planning on selling both of our cars to get a little closer :) Then there's the student loans.... ugh. A big congrats to you, though! That's so aweseome!

FREEEEDDOOOOOMMMMM!!!! That's what they play when you call and say your debt free.....That's awesome Matt and Kristi. Dave and I have been on the Financial Freedom plan for about 1.5 years now. It sure is freeing. Dave Ramsey is so encouraging, and makes it so simple for everyone. Live like no one else now, to live like no one else later. LOVE IT!!!!
